This happened -April, 2005
I barely knew you, but you understood
the battle I was about to fight
because you’d just been there and came through it
alright
You came to my house and patiently explained
what that first chemotherapy would be like
answered questions
and held my hand
listened to my fears and reassured me that I can
Would I like you to come with me?
Would you mind? I don’t want to be burden.
My kids are teens and so emotional, could you help me talk to them?
You just smile.. I’d love to
We’ve lost touch
Both moved to different places
I’m good now and strong
And I hope you know how much
Your support made a difference
This is beautiful. Your words are so moving and powerful and I love that you are “good now and strong”!

Her name is Marilyn Hall and she was the school nurse where I worked. She is quite the lady!

You were so lucky to have this special person enter your life at just the right time! I’m sure she knows how much that meant. You described this connection beautifully!

What a lovely tribute to an angel – those people who do show up and help us when we need them the most.
